It's a Barred Owl. We noticed a dead mouse just below.
As it got dark we saw it swooping down hunting squirrels. If only it would take on the raccoons too!

The owl seems gone today but the mouse carcass was still there.
that is the coolest thing ever!!! maybe it will bring some friends and help us with the pigeons, too! :-)
